Successor to game classic Beneath a Steel Sky has been postponed until next year
Beyond a Steel Sky, the successor to point and click puzzle game Beneath a Steel Sky from 1994, will not be released this year. Developer Revolution Software says it needs a few months extra time. The game is set to release sometime in early 2020 for PC, consoles, and Apple Arcade.
The developer says to announce the new release date sometime early next year. Beyond a Steel Sky didn’t have a release date yet, but when it was announced in March, it was said that the game would be released this year.
Beyond a Steel Sky was announced as a game for Apple’s Arcade subscription, but a PC version is also coming and the game is coming to undisclosed consoles. The creators of the original game are involved in the sequel.
The game Beneath a Steel Sky was released in 1994 for MS-DOS and the Commodore Amiga. The game later came to Windows and in 2009 a remaster was released for iOS. The PC version of the classic, which received high ratings, is now available as freeware. The game was praised for its good puzzles and story.
