Study: More Americans and Europeans are using iPhone for more than two years
More and more Europeans and Americans are using an iPhone that is more than two years old. That is what research agency Kantar claims. Meanwhile, 35 percent of iPhone users have had the same device for more than two years.
A year ago, that percentage was still at thirty, Kantar reports. The increase in the number of iPhone users who have owned their device for more than two years may indicate an increasing need for new iPhones in the coming period. This is suspected by research firm Kantar, which points to the expensive iPhone X as one of the causes of the delayed purchase. Current iPhone users would wait and see if they find the new Apple smartphone worth its price.
Kantar further notes that Samsung is struggling in the Chinese market. The manufacturer has a share of 2.2 percent there. Worldwide that is more than 20 percent, making Samsung the market leader. The Chinese manufacturers Lenovo, Meizu and ZTE are also having a hard time. The Chinese smartphone market is currently 91 percent owned by five brands: Huawei, Xiaomi, Apple, Vivo, and Oppo. The latter two are both brands of the BBK Electronics group.
