Studio Shows Souls-esque Mortal Shell Gameplay, Beginning Beta July 3rd
Developer Cold Symmetry has revealed gameplay footage and a new trailer for his Dark Souls-esque game Mortal Shell. The game will be released for PC and consoles in the third quarter of this year, with a beta for the PC version starting on July 3.
Players can take on the role of four Shells in action RPG Mortal Shell. These are characters in the game, with their own story and unique combat characteristics. After taking over such a shell, players can unlock a storyline and unlock more and more possibilities.
The four different Shells are hidden in the game world, but can be found at the beginning, so players can choose their own style by trying different Shells. If players are knocked out in a fight, they end up outside the Shell and have to make their way back. Outside the Shell, players can also fight, but they have only one hp. In theory it is also possible to complete the entire game without Shell.
Players do not have a minimap at their disposal in Mortal Shell. According to the developers, this ensures that players pay close attention to the environment. The game world consists of several areas that are all connected to a central area.
