Students create ‘Mac Pro clone’ based on Raspberry Pi and rasp
Students at the University of Aveiro in Portugal have placed a Raspberry Pi 3 in a rasp-based case as a nod to the new Mac Pro. The body under the grater is made with a 3d printer.
The project is in jest with a clear reference to the design of the new Mac Pro, which Apple announced in early June. That design reminded many of a grater, although a surface like the Mac Pro has turned out not to be at all suitable for grating cheese.
In any case, the students at the University of Aveiro in Portugal have continued that comparison and designed the RasPro. The RasPro is equipped with a 3d-printed chassis in the grater, a speaker to produce sound, a Raspberry Pi 3 and a fan to keep it cool. An explanation has been put online for those who also want to make the RasPro themselves.
