Street Fighter 6 is coming to consoles and PC in 2023
Capcom will release Street Fighter 6 next year for PlayStation and Xbox consoles and on Steam. The fighting game will have three game modes, including a single player mode called World Tour. In it, players seem to be able to roam somewhat freely in the game world.
Street Fighter 6 gets the traditional Fighting Ground mode for combat and adds World Tour and Battle Hub. World Tour is according to the makers ‘an immersive single player campaign’ and from the trailer it can be concluded that it takes place in a game world that is larger than the usual arena in which the battles take place. To what extent this is an open world remains to be seen. Capcom gives few details about this mode.
The Battle Hub mode is focused on multiplayer and should provide facilities for players to interact with each other. According to Capcom, this mode can do so “in new ways and in unique forms.” More details about this will only be announced later.
Street Fighter 6 will also get ‘real-time commentary’. To do this, Capcom is partnering with well-known community commentators “and other famous faces.” Their voices are incorporated into the game and when players turn on this feature, the actions on the screen are discussed. According to the makers, this will allow players to ‘experience the hype of competitive matches’.
It is not yet known when the game will be released in 2023. Street Fighter 6 is coming to PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X and S and will be available on Steam for PC. The game appears seven years the previous title in the series. Street Fighter 5 was released in early 2016.
