Publisher Annapurna Interactive has revealed the first gameplay footage of sci-fi cat game Stray. It has also been announced that the game will be released in early 2022. Earlier that was at the end of this year. Players take on the role of a cat in the game.

The gameplay video shows the cat exploring the game world, solving puzzles and taking on enemies. Swann Martin-Raget, game producer at BlueTwelve Studio, explains this. The cat is assisted in the game by a drone, B-12, which takes place in a backpack.

Stray is set in a fallen city, or an abandoned city, which is inspired by Kowloon Walled City. That was a very densely populated area in Hong Kong. Although there are no humans in the city, it is populated with humanoid robots and other futuristic creatures.

Stray will be released in early 2022 for PC, the PlayStation 4 and 5. Last year in June the game was first shown by Sony and then there was talk of a release at the end of 2021. Developer BlueTwelve Studio was founded in 2016 to make the game. The French studio uses Unreal Engine 4 for this. The PC version is coming to Steam.
