SteelSeries shows game mouse with OLED screen
During the CES SteelSeries presented the Rival 700, a gaming mouse in which a small OLED screen is processed. The player can choose what is displayed on it. The mouse can also vibrate and that option is also fully adjustable.
The Rival 700’s tiny OLED screen is placed where the top of the player’s thumb rests. On the small screen, players can display which sensitivity the mouse is set to. Information from the game played can also be displayed, such as the number of bullets left in the rifle’s magazine or the number of headshots the player has taken. The player can also display a logo designed with the supplied software.
In addition, the mouse has a vibration function, which can also be set at will. For example, the player can vibrate the mouse when certain timers in the game have expired or the player’s health has fallen below a certain limit. Those options can also be set with the included SteelSeries Engine.
The mouse has a modular construction. For example, two different cables are included with which the mouse can be connected to the PC. Furthermore, the mouse has a removable cover; SteelSeries will supply covers with different coatings. Finally, the sensor of the mouse can be replaced. The intention is that players can buy a better sensor as soon as it comes on the market. The mouse appears in the spring. In the US it will cost $100; a European price is unknown.
