Steam has surpassed the number of 6000 games in its digital store. That’s almost double from a little over a year ago, when Valve announced that Steam was offering more than 3,700 titles. Almost all games are available for Windows at least.

If you use the browse function of the Steam store and view all games, you will see that the counter is currently at 6256 games. With the Windows filter on, the counter comes out at 6254. So in total, two games are available for OS X or Linux, but not for Windows. There are 1448 games available for Linux and 2243 games for OS X. The numbers do not include games that are no longer offered, but may still appear in players’ libraries. By comparison, Origin has just over 500 games, and GOG just over 1200.

According to SteamDB, there are at least seven players who have more than 6000 games in their library. The number one in that ranking has 6768 games and thus his account represents a value of 70,398 dollars, or 62,403 euros.

When Valve had 3,700 games in September last year, the platform had 100 million users. It is not known how many there are now, but in February Valve reported that it still had 125 million users. It is unclear which share of those users is actually active.
