Steam breaks the limit of 20 million concurrent users
Steam has set a new record for the number of concurrent users logged in. The platform broke the barrier of 20 million online users, which the service attributes to many people who stay at home due to the new corona virus.
In total, 20.3 million users were logged into Steam at the same time during the night from Sunday to Monday during the peak, according to the statistics page of the Steam database. There were almost 6.4 million players in-game at the time. The number of logged-in users and in-game players has already shown an upward trend in recent days, which is probably due to the measures worldwide against covid-19. Valve itself writes the record here too ready.
The most popular game remains Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which set a new record of 1,024,845 players in the last 24 hours. Dota 2 is in second place, followed by Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds. In fourth place is Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, which also set a new record with 196,352 gamers.
The previous record was set in February, when 18.8 million players were online simultaneously. The record for this dates from two years ago.
