State of Decay 2 will be out on Steam early next year

The zombie survival game State of Decay 2 will be released on Steam sometime early next year. This means that this Xbox title from Microsoft will also be playable on a PC, without first purchasing the game for the Xbox One.

The State of Decay 2-Steam page states that the release date is April 1, 2022, but that’s almost certainly a placeholder. The description of the game states that developer Undead Labs and publisher Xbox Game Studios will make the game available on Steam “in early 2020”. An exact date has not yet been announced.

There is also no price information yet. When State of Decay 2 came out in May last year for Windows 10 and Xbox One, Microsoft charged $30 for the game, or $50 for the Ultimate Edition. The State of Decay 2 game is a Play Anywhere title, so purchasing for Xbox One means players can also play the game on a Windows 10 PC. The original State of Decay came out in 2013.

State of Decay 2 is an open world zombie survival game, with the creators building on elements from the original game. As a member of a community, you must try to keep the community alive and defend it by finding stuff. The story is influenced by the decisions of players. A co-op mode has also been added in the second part.
