Starfield will only be released for Xbox and Windows
Venturebeat journalist Jeff Grubb reports that Starfield, Bethesda’s upcoming new game, will be exclusive to Windows and Xbox. It was known that there would be Bethesda games that would not come to the PlayStation after the acquisition by Microsoft, but not which games.
Grubb let you know on Twitter, but does not mention where his information comes from. The ruling comes two months after Xbox CEO Phil Spencer told the public that “Gamers should know that Xbox consoles, PC and Game Pass are the best places to experience new Bethesda games, including some new titles that will be exclusive in the future. coming to Xbox and PC”.
At about the same time as Grubb’s statement, some screenshots of the game have surfaced. Those are summarized in a post on Reddit, although their authenticity doesn’t seem to be fully established. Starfield will be a science fiction RPG running in the Creation Engine, which also includes recent Fallout games and Skyrim. It’s the publisher’s first major all-new franchise in over twenty-five years.
