Stardew Valley has sold over 20 million copies
Indie game Stardew Valley has sold more than 20 million copies, developer ConcernedApe reports. The game was released in February 2016 and has appeared on various platforms in recent years. The PC version has sold 13 million copies.
Last year in September, the number of copies sold stood at 15 million units. The number of 20 million copies was reached in March this year, is on the Stardew Valley website. An additional 5 million copies have been sold in the past seven months.
Stardew Valley was released for PC in February 2016. The Harvest Moon-inspired country life RPG sold over two million copies after two months. The game also came to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in the year of its release.
In October 2017, the game was released for the Nintendo Switch and an iOS version followed a year later. An Android version was also released in 2019. The PC version has sold 13 million copies. The Android version has more than a million installs, according to the Play Store. No figures are known for the other platforms.
The game was created over four years by developer Eric Barone, aka ConcernedApe. Several major updates appeared after the release, including new environments, support for multiple languages and multiplayer. The developer of the successful indie game announced a new game at the end of last year. This is Haunted Chocolatier, in which players must collect ingredients to make chocolate and sell them in a shop.
