Stardew Valley has been sold 10 million times
The country-life RPG has reached the ten million sales milestone. The game was released in February 2016 and is now available on multiple platforms. In August last year, the counter on the game’s site was still at six million sales.
Developer ConcernedApe cites the ten million figure on its press page and the game’s creator Eric Barone, confirms on Twitter that that milestone has been achieved: “It’s strange and wonderful to think of the time when I made the game in my bedroom with no idea that anyone would like the game. That was only four years ago!” In August, the developer announced that the game had sold six million copies.
The Harvest Moon-inspired game was released for PC in February 2016 and had sold one million units within two months. Later that year, the game was released for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, and the Switch version was released in October 2017. The iOS version followed in October 2018. The game has had three major updates, the last of which added multiplayer.
