Star Wars: The Old Republic will get Legacy of the Sith expansion later this year
Mmorpg is getting a new expansion entitled Legacy of the Sith in honor of its tenth anniversary. The expansion continues the story and allows players to choose their own combat styles with Combat Styles.
According to developer BioWare the Legacy of the Sith expansion players more choice in how they play the game. With the introduction of Combat Styles, players can choose to decouple their Class Story from gameplay and choose from all Advanced Class options. This makes it possible, for example, to play as a Trooper with a sniper rifle, or to use the powers of the Dark Side as a Jedi.
The new storyline takes place on the planet Manaan, which has been taken over by the Sith Empire. There, players must fight for control of the planet in underwater environments, among other things. There are Imperial and Republic storylines.
The mmorpg also gets Loadouts, which allow players to customize their playstyle and gear “with one click”. The makers also say that they want to improve the game for both new and experienced players by implementing many quality-of-life updates. For example, the composition of characters is completely revamped.
Star Wars: The Old Republic was released on December 20, 2011. According to BioWare, the upcoming expansion is one of the things that will celebrate the tenth anniversary of the multiplayer game. There have been rumors for a long time about the arrival of a remake of SW:KOTOR, but nothing has been announced yet.
