Star Wars Battlefront II Open Beta Begins October 6
Publisher Electronic Arts has announced that the Star Wars Battlefront II Open Beta will begin on October 6. People who pre-ordered the game will get access to the beta on October 4.
The open beta will run until October 9 and revolves around the multiplayer portion of Star Wars Battlefront II. During the beta, players can opt for a battle with up to 40 players that takes place in Theed, the capital of Naboo. Players can take on the role of the Separatists with their robot army, or take on the role of clone troopers of the Republic. There are four classes to choose from: assault, heavy, officer or specialist. The ‘Star Wars heroes’ will also be present. The open beta is for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
You can also choose a second mode to test: Starfighter Assault. This mode revolves around aerial duels, where players get the chance to control all kinds of well-known fighters. According to Electronic Arts, players will be able to participate in a fighter jet attack, which takes place during the time of the original trilogy. The Publisher has not released any further details about this mode; to be announced at the Gamescom trade show in Cologne, which begins at the end of August.
Star Wars Battlefront II was announced in April by Electronic Arts. In addition to multiplayer battles, unlike its predecessor, the game also has a single player campaign. The game is in development for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and will be released worldwide on November 17, roughly a month before the release of Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. Around that time, a bundle pack containing Star Wars Battlefront II and a PlayStation 4 Pro will also be released.
