Star Citizen enables imitation of player’s facial expression
From the Alpha 3.3, Star Citizen players can use a web camera to bring their facial expressions back into the game. Star Citizen: Squadron 42 has released a new trailer.
Face over IP, as the feature is called, works with standard webcams and using the reference points on eyes, nose, mouth and lips, the corresponding facial expression is easily animated, Cloud Imperium, who developed the option with Faceware Tech, said in an interview with games spot.
Other features of Alpha 3.3 include the new Scramble Race mission type, and the arrival of new weapons and ten new spacecraft. The technique Object Contain Streaming should provide higher frame rates and less CPU load and there are now ai opponents on planets, for the fps mode.
