Stack Overflow prohibits use of AI tool ChatGPT for replies
Stack Overflow prohibits the use of text generator ChatGPT for answers on the site. According to the site, the answers are too often incorrect, while users may think that the answers are correct.

This is a temporary policy, says Stack Overflow. The programming Q&A site says it is still considering a policy for the future, but for now it has decided to consider ChatGPT answers a violation of the rules. Thousands of answers have been posted recently using the tool.
Stack Overflow claims that the answers the tool generates look plausible, but in practice often turn out not to be useful or correct. The site does not mention percentages. ChatGPT is a tool to generate a piece of text based on a prompt. The tool uses texts that have previously appeared online. On the ChatGPT site from OpenAI there is a question-answer model about a piece of code as an example of a conversation in which the tool can provide added value.
