The Japanese publisher Square Enix has reviewed the port of Dragon Quest XI for western countries during its E3 presentation. In the trailer you can hear that the characters have been given English voices. There are no spoken texts in the original.

The game was part of the Square Enix E3 presentation. It’s an RPG with a third person perspective. The full title of the game is Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age. In addition to a translation, the Western version of Dragon Quest XI offers a new, higher difficulty, which will be named Draconian Quest. This mode should offer more experienced players a challenge.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age will be released on September 4 for PlayStation 4 and Steam. The game was released in Japan last summer. A 3DS version was also released there, but Square Enix does not make a western version of it. Last year, Nintendo announced that Dragon Quest XI is coming to Switch. Square Enix no longer mentions the Switch version in its announcement of the Western version. It is not clear if and when it will come.
