Square Enix Shares Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC Details
Square Enix has provided details about the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind DLC. The expansion includes a photo mode and ‘black code’, which players can use to make the game more difficult. Square Enix may be releasing a new trailer this month.
Square Enix shared the information during a Kingdom Hearts 3 concert in Osaka, Eurogamer writes. The information was shared by a Twitter user present, mel_lifluous3. She reports that the DLC will include a photo and slideshow mode. In their own words, the majority of the presentation was about these two additions. The photo mode allows players to take photos of the in-game environments and characters. The slideshow mode lets players create slideshows from these photos. Users can add background music and effects to this. The photos shown were ‘hilarious’, showing a wide range of possibilities.
The game will also get a fastpass mode and ‘black code’ will be added. The fastpass mode allows players to ‘adjust the difficulty of the game’. For example, fastpass players can defeat enemies in one fell swoop. It therefore seems to be an option that makes the game easier. Black code lets players fine-tune the difficulty in turn. This way, users can choose how many hit points they have.
Tetsuya Nomura, director of the game, reports during the concert that he cannot share a release date yet. This is because otherwise people ‘might get angry’. The DLC was announced during E3 2019 and is currently planned for ‘this winter’. This means that the expansion must be released no later than March 20, 2020. GamesRadar recently discovered job openings for an unknown Kingdom Hearts hd project. These are positions for six months, with the option to start full-time after that period. It may be the Re:Mind DLC, but it is also possible that Square Enix is working on a new mainline Kingdom Hearts game. In any case, it will not be a new HD remake, as all previous Kingdom Hearts games are already available on the PlayStation 4.
Earlier, more information was announced about Re:Mind. The dlc gets new bosses, cutscenes, keyblades and new drive forms. The DLC also includes a new gameplay scenario. The DLC may be partly about the mysterious Master of Masters, who was briefly discussed at the end of Kingdom Hearts 3.
