Square Enix is working on a digital card game around Final Fantasy
Square Enix is working on a card game that appears to be called the Final Fantasy Digital Card Game. The game is currently only available for the Japanese market and should be released this year for Windows and mobile platforms.
Siliconera discovered the announcement of Final Fantasy Digital Card Game on the Japanese website of publisher Square Enix. Few details are known yet. According to Square Enix, the game lets you build a deck of cards based on characters from the various Final Fantasy games. In addition, there are summons that are designed in pixel art style.
The game should be released this year for Android, iOS and Windows. From January 18 to 25, Square Enix will be holding a beta test for which the publisher is still looking for participants. It is unknown whether the game will also be released outside of Japan.
It’s not the first digital card game Square Enix is bringing to market. Dragon Quest: Rivals was released in 2017, also for Windows, Android and iOS.
