Square Enix Announces Guardians of the Galaxy Single Player Game

Publisher Square Enix and developer Eidos Montreal have announced Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. It is a single player action game, which will be released on October 26 for consoles and PC. The game will not receive any DLC or microtransactions, according to the makers.

The Guardians of the Galaxy game is a third-person action game created by Eidos Montreal. That’s the studio that also has the recent Deus Ex and Tomb Raider games to its name. There were already rumors that the studio would be working on a Guardians of the Galaxy game, publisher Square Enix has now confirmed that. Players take on the role of character Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord.

During the E3 presentation Square Enix Presents, an announcement trailer was shown and an 11-minute video of gameplay. A video has also been posted online in which developers explain the game. According to a preview of Eurogamer, it is a pure single player game, which does not receive any DLC and also contains no microtransactions. Unlike Marvel’s Avengers, another Marvel game also published by Square Enix.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will be released on October 26. The game will be released for current and previous generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as for PCs.
