Square Enix Announces Action RPG Valkyrie Elysium For PlayStation And PC

Square Enix has announced a new installment in the Valkyrie series. Valkyrie Elysium is an action role-playing game coming not only for the PlayStation 4 and 5, but also for Windows PCs.

In Valkyrie Elysium, players take on the role of a young Valkyrie, who is entrusted with the fate of the world by the mightiest god of all, the All-Father. Players must fight enemies and figure out why the world is on the brink of collapse. Square Enix reports that the combat system will contain elements of previous games and real-time action.

Previous Valkyrie games have been more tactics-oriented RPGs, but Elysium contains finishing moves and combos, as well as combat moves where quick reactions and strategic thinking are rewarded. The publisher has also hired a new game studio: Tri-Ace made the first three Valkyrie parts, but Soleil is developing Elysium.
