Spotify tests subscription form for pairs
Spotify is testing a subscription form where two people are on one subscription. Until now, there was a Premium subscription for one person and a Family subscription for up to six people. The test does not run in the Benelux.
The Duo subscription costs 12.50 euros, according to the Spotify site. This means that the price falls between that of Premium, 10 euros per month, and Family, which costs 15 euros per month. In addition, it is possible to have Spotify generate a playlist based on music that users listen to separately from each other, the Duo Mix. It comes from both people’s Daily Mix and Discover Weekly.
Spotify requires that both participants live at the same address. That is the same condition as with Family. The test is running in five countries, Spotify tells The Verge. Among these are three European countries, namely Ireland, Denmark and Poland. It is not yet known when and whether the subscription form will come to the Benelux.
