‘Spotify tests explanation of artists on playlists via Stories’

Spotify is probably working on a test, in which artists explain their own playlists via video. A developer found code in the Android app with references to movies of the feature.

The videos show that a Norwegian singer-songwriter explains the choice of certain songs on a self-compiled playlist, Jane Wong’s blog shows. The interface corresponds to that of the Stories function of social networks, with a bar indicator at the top of each video.

Wong stumbled upon the feature while reverse engineering the Android app over the weekend. In addition to the Norwegian singer-songwriter, there was also a test with a Spotify employee who showed how the function works.

The music streaming service has neither confirmed nor denied the test. It wouldn’t be the only test of the music streaming service with the Stories format. In May, images of Storyline came out via Techcrunch, which does not focus on playlists but on individual songs.
