Spotify rolls out feature to rate podcasts with stars

Spotify is rolling out a feature to review podcasts. Listeners will be able to give between 1 and 5 stars, which means that each podcast will show an average rating. With the system, Spotify wants to help users better by offering podcasts.

Listeners will see the option to give a star rating to the podcast episode in question after a minimum of 30 seconds of listening time. Once at least ten ratings have been received, Spotify will show the average score on the landing page of the podcast itself.

“The ratings will make it easier for listeners to gauge whether they actually want to try a new podcast,” Spotify said in a press release. In addition, according to the company, the rating system can create a feedback loop between the creators of podcasts and their listeners. “This system allows creators to broadly gauge how well they’re doing on the platform and then ask for feedback. We encourage creators to let their audience know that they can leave a rating.”
