Spotify Premium gets audiobooks

Spotify Premium subscribers will get access to audiobooks, the music service has announced. The restriction is that subscribers may listen to the books for a maximum of fifteen hours per month.

Spotify will first start in the UK and Australia and later expand to other countries, says the company. Audiobooks will also be available for purchase separately, but within the subscription, paying customers can listen to fifteen hours of as many different books as they want. This allows customers to listen to books for about half an hour per day.

The library contains approximately 150,000 titles. The company does not report anything about the languages ​​in which it will offer audiobooks. The examples mentioned have so far only been in English, but it is unclear whether books in other languages ​​will also be available in Spotify.
