Spotify is working on an Xbox One app
Spotify is developing an app for Xbox One. This is evident from a screenshot that shows that Xbox community chief Larry Hryb is testing the app. Spotify would like to make the app available ‘soon’.
An image of a screen showed Larry Hryb running the ‘Spotify Music – for Xbox’ app on his Major Nelson account. The Spanish site MondoXbox published the image this week. According to The Verge, it is not a fake image.
The site has heard from multiple sources that Spotify will indeed come up with an Xbox app in the short term. That release would follow the music service’s Windows 10 app, which appeared in the Windows Store at the end of June. That app was not about software based on the Universal Windows Platform, which can also run on the Xbox One. Spotify has been available on PlayStation 3 and 4 for over two years now, replacing Sony’s former Music Unlimited service.
