Spotify allows adding photos and video to podcasts

Spotify has announced the Spotlight format. With this, the music service allows providers of podcasts, audiobooks, new and other audio content to add visual elements to broadcasts, such as photo, video and text.

The Spotlight visual layer appears in playlist form on devices with the Spotify app. During broadcasts or episodes of podcasts, listeners are presented with images, video images and texts.

For now, Spotlight is only coming to the US. Initially, some providers will use the format, of which BuzzFeed News is the best known in the Benelux. Spotify previously had functionality called Spotlight. It was aimed at highlighting artists and music and suggestions.
