Spotify Adds Premium Feature To Hide Songs In Playlist
Spotify has added a new Premium subscriber feature to its mobile app that will allow users to hide songs from playlists. Spotify will then no longer include that song in subsequent playback sessions.
The option to skip songs from now on in playlists has been added to the iOS and Android app of Spotify and can only be used for Premium users, reports The Verge. The music service seems to be adding the update to the mobile apps in phases, without further publicizing the function.
The option not to include songs when playing playlists can be found in the context menu for music tracks, the menu that can be opened by clicking on the three dots. After the update, there will be a ‘hide song’ option above the options to add songs to playlists or queue them up. Spotify does not completely remove the song from the playlist, but shows it in a dark view, as a sign that it will be skipped from now on.
Whether and when the option will also come to the desktop versions of Spotify is unknown.
