Specifications of Intel Xeon E5-4600 v3 processors come online
Specifications of an upcoming Xeon series from Intel have surfaced online. The Xeon E5-4600 v3 line is based on Haswell and will consist of ten models, with clock speeds up to 2.9GHz.
The details of the processors have appeared with a list of supported chips from ASRock motherboards and with Intel’s own Processor Specification Update from January, Computerbase noted. It concerns ten processors with 10 to 18 cores and with clock speeds ranging from 1.7GHz to 2.9GHz.
The processors are from Intel’s Haswell generation and intended for systems with four sockets. The processors should be on the market in the second quarter of 2015. The first Haswell-based Xeon chips were the E5-2600 v3 line, which came out in the fall last year.
