Specifications and photos of new Panasonic cameras leaked

Reports about a number of new Panasonic cameras have appeared on various websites. The manufacturer would only officially present its new devices on Wednesday, but various specifications and images had already been leaked on Tuesday.

In a now-deleted article, the British newspaper The Telegraph gave some details of Panasonic’s new cameras. It would be the Lumix DMC-G5, the DMC-LX7 and the DMC-FZ200. nphoto and the Canadian photoprice have also put pictures of the G5 online.

The new compact system camera G5 is said to have a fold-out 3″ screen, a 16-megapixel sensor and Panasonic’s latest processor, the Venus Engine VII. The article further stated that the G5 can record full-HD videos and take photos with an ISO value up to 12,800.

Panasonic would also like to bring two new lenses to the market: the previously announced f/2.8 12-35 Power OIS and a 45-150 mm f/4. The price of the G5 would be between £599 for the simplest and £879 for the most comprehensive kit.

The new LX7 would have an f/1.4 Leica lens, a 10.1-megapixel large Mos sensor and a 3″ screen. The camera could be set completely manually and give good results in low light.

In addition, the DMC-FZ200 would be released in late August or early September. This camera is intended to replace the FZ150, the current flagship of the Japanese manufacturer. The camera is rumored to have a zoom lens with an equivalent 35mm image range of 25-600mm and an unprecedented aperture of f/2.8 over the entire zoom range. It would be the first time that a zoom lens of a compact camera has such a large telephoto aperture.
