Sony’s 55″ X90J-4k LCD TV with HDMI 2.1 gets a suggested retail price of 1399 euros
Sony has announced the euro prices of its X90J. This is a 4k LCD TV that Sony is launching this year and can be considered the successor to the XH90. The new model has HDMI 2.1 and the 55″ version will be priced at 1399 euros.
On its German website, Sony has listed the suggested retail prices of the X90J versions with diagonals of 55 and 65 inches. These are respectively 1399 and 1599 euros and the TVs will be available in that country from May 3. There will also be a 50 “version, but that model will in any case only follow in Germany from May 17. The French department of Sony reports that this smallest version will cost 1299 euros. A 75” variant will also be released this year. the X90J. When that will happen is still unclear, but the euro price will be 2299 euros.
Like Sony’s new OLED televisions and, for example, the Z9J, an 8k LCD TV that will be released this year, the X90J televisions have HDMI 2.1 and Sony’s new image processor, called Cognitive Processor XR. The X90J is the successor to the XH90, a 4k LCD TV that Sony released last year and where the HDMI 2.1 implementation has not gone smoothly.
At the beginning of March, Sony announced the prices of its A90J OLED television, which is the top model of the OLED televisions that the manufacturer is releasing this year. This television costs 2599 and 3499 euros for the 55″ and 65″ version. Directly below is the A80J, also an OLED television. The 55″ version of the A80J has a suggested retail price of 1999 euros and the 65″ version costs 2699 euros. The differences between the two models are not very big, but the main difference is that the A90J comes with a newer OLED panel and therefore has to achieve a higher peak brightness.
