Sony will soon roll out a new update for the PlayStation 4 that should fix the firmware problem that prevents players from starting their consoles. It is unclear when exactly the update will appear. For the time being, the company is sticking to ‘fast’.

Sony recently released update 2.0 for the PlayStation 4. The update introduced some new features, such as the Share Play function and a YouTube app. However, reports soon followed that users could no longer turn on their consoles after installing the update. The problem would arise if the PlayStation 4 had to start from the so-called rest mode. There were also issues with the YouTube app.

Sony promises to get better and will soon issue update 2.01, the company has announced via Twitter announced. It is unclear when exactly that will happen. The update mainly aims to fix the issues that prevent players from starting their consoles. Whether other bugs will be fixed is also unknown.

Update, 11:53: Sony has via Twitter let you know that update 2.01 will roll out from Wednesday.
