God of War Ragnarök will be released on November 9. The direct sequel to the acclaimed reboot from 2018 is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It is possible to upgrade from the last to the current-gen version of the game.

In God of War Ragnarök, Kratos and his son Atreus go to Midgard, the world inspired by Norse mythology, for the second and last time. In this part, all nine worlds are passable; in the original God of War some realms were not available. As in the previous part, the relationship between father and son is central again in Ragnarök, Santa Monica Studio emphasizes with the latest cgi trailer called ‘Father and Son’.

In a corresponding blog post Sony announces that customers of the standard version of the PlayStation 4 variant of God of War Ragnarök have the option to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version. That costs ‘the equivalent of 10 dollars’.

Both variants of the game are included as standard with the Digital Deluxe Edition. The Collector’s Edition and Jötnar Edition also come with the PS4 and PS5 versions of Ragnarök, along with a slew of in-game extras, action figures, and other physical goodies. Fans can pre-order all versions of God of War Ragnarök starting July 15. Sony has not yet announced concrete prices for God of War Ragnarök and the special editions.
