Sony to suspend PlayStation sales in Russia
Sony joins the long line of companies that are temporarily suspending activities in Russia and is ceasing sales of PlayStation consoles and software in the country. As a result, Russians can no longer make purchases in the PlayStation Store.
Sony Interactive Entertainment announces shipments of all hardware and software to Russia to have discontinued† The company says that as a result, the release of Gran Turismo 7 in the country will also not go ahead. Sony calls for peace in Ukraine and donates $2 million to refugee organizations Unhcr and Save the Children.
A long line of tech companies led Sony to stop operations in Russia over the invasion of Ukraine. Microsoft, Samsung, Google, Ubisoft, Apple and Amazon, among others, decided to stop sales and deliveries to the country. In addition, chip deliveries to Russia have been stopped, including by Intel and AMD.
