Sony to release 77-inch OLED television in the Benelux at the end of September
Sony has announced that the Bravia A1 77″ OLED television with 4k resolution will be available in the Benelux from the end of September. At the beginning of this year, Sony already released the 55″ and 65″ variant. The televisions have an audio system that is partly in the foot and is partly incorporated in the screen.
The special audio system of the A1 line has been christened by Sony Acoustic Surface. According to the manufacturer, normal speakers are not used, but the entire screen vibrates to generate sound waves. The A1 televisions are equipped with a foot in the form of a kickstand that also contains the subwoofer and the connections.
The televisions run on Google’s Android TV operating system, making it possible to install apps and stream videos via the built-in Chromecast functionality. All A1 models can handle HDR images based on the Dolby Vision standard, via the HDMI and USB inputs as well as internet streams. These images are processed by Sony’s own ‘4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme’. The panels in the televisions come from LG Display.
The 77″ Sony Bravia A1 will be available in the Benelux from the end of September for a price of 20,000 euros and can be ordered from a number of stores. The 65″ model now costs around 5,000 euros, while the 55″ model is around 3,500 euros costs.
