Ten games for the PlayStation 4 will not work on the upcoming PlayStation 5. Afro Samurai 2, Hitman Go and Shadow Complex Remastered, among others, will not work on the new console. Some PS4 games get better graphics due to the Game Boost feature. There are a total of ten games with which the PlayStation 5 is not backwards compatible, Sony writes in an update on that topic. These are DWVR, Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma, TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2, Just Deal With It !, Shadow Complex Remastered, Robinson The Journey, We Sing, Hitman Go Definitive Edition, Shadwen and Joe’s Diner. Those are the only games that Sony mentions for now. The company reiterates that ‘the vast majority’ of PS4 games would work on the PS5, while Sony warns that ‘some functions’ of the PS4 games do not work on the PS5, although it does not mention examples. “In addition, some PS4 games may show errors and unexpected behavior” when played on the PS5, “the company said. Some older games would also run smoother and at a higher frame rate on the new console, Sony writes. That’s because of the PS5’s Game Boost feature, but Sony doesn’t write about the exact games involved.
