Sony shows long gameplay video of The Last of Us Part II
Sony and developer Naughty Dog have posted a lengthy gameplay video of The Last of Us Part II online. New features are shown, such as the possibility to swing over a gorge with a rope. Also, main character Ellie can now swim.
The 23-minute video provides some details about the game’s story and locations. Ellie is now 19 years old and part of it is set in the American city of Seattle. Players will not only encounter infected humans there, but also two factions fighting against each other.
The footage shows that The Last of Us Part II is very similar to the first game, but there are also new possibilities, including swinging on a rope, swimming and steering a boat. Furthermore, the video shows how players can upgrade their weapons. That is visually much improved.
Earlier this month, a story trailer was released with hints about the story. The game will be released on June 19 for the PlayStation 4. The release should have taken place in February, but that was postponed several times.
