Sony shows Gran Turismo 7 for PlayStation 5

Polyphony Digital is working on Gran Turismo for the PlayStation 5. It is not yet known when the racing game will be released. A trailer shows that players can travel the world to different circuits.

The trailer reveals that Gran Turismo 7 will contain a section called GT Town. That shows a city where players have a garage to store and tinker with their cars. Players can also zoom out to GT World to select tracks around the world.

Furthermore, the trailer shows gameplay footage of a race, with a camera angle from the cockpit. Substantive details about the game have not yet been announced. For example, it is not yet known how many cars and tracks the game will contain. It is also unclear when the game will be released.

Gran Turismo 7 is the successor to Gran Turismo 6 from 2013. After that, Gran Turismo Sport appeared in 2017, with that game Sony and Polyphony Digital focused strongly on e-sports. As far as can be concluded from the first trailer, the new game seems to focus less on that. The name also seems to indicate that.
