Sony shows budget smartphone Xperia E3

Sony has announced a new entry-level model in its smartphone line at IFA with the Xperia E3. The device is equipped with a 4.5 “screen and a design that resembles the devices in the Z series. The device also supports 4g.

The Xperia E3, which runs on Android 4.4, has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, a quad-core soc clocked at 1.2GHz. Sony has given the smartphone 1GB of RAM, along with 4GB of flash storage. The storage can be increased by means of a microSD card. The 4.5″ IPS screen has a resolution of 854×480 pixels.

There is a 5 megapixel camera on the back to take photos and shoot videos with up to 1080p. On the front is a camera with VGA resolution. The device supports Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, FM radio with RDS and GPS. The device can also communicate with 4g networks. Sony has given the 144 gram device a 2330mAh battery.

Sony will launch the budget smartphone in four colorways in the fall. The suggested retail price for the device is 169 euros.
