Sony sells over ten million PS4s worldwide
Sony has announced at Gamescom that it has sold more than ten million PlayStation 4 consoles. With this, the console manufacturer manages to maintain a stable line in sales numbers and maintain its lead over the Xbox One.
In January of this year, Sony announced that the PS4, which hit the market in November last year, has sold more than 4.2 million copies. Two months later, this number had risen to 6 million units. Sony announced Tuesday at Gamescom that the PlayStation 4 has now passed the milestone of 10 million units sold. This concerns a measurement on August 10 of consoles actually sold to consumers.
With these numbers, Sony continues the successful sales of the PS4. The manufacturer also seems to maintain its lead over the Xbox One, with an estimated 6 to 7 million units sold and limited availability worldwide. Sony also announced during its Gamescom presentation that 30 million games for the PS4 have now been sold.
