It may soon be possible to access PlayStation Stores from other European regions. It is not yet known whether the function will also appear for regions outside Europe. Sony has not yet explained the change.

Reddit user AlphaFoxWarfare noticed the change and shared a screenshot. Although the feature is already there, according to PlayStation Lifestyle, it is not yet usable. Countries outside the European Economic Area, such as Switzerland, are not included.

Sony has not yet made an official statement about the change. It is possible that the update has to do with the European ban on geo-blocking, which has been in effect since December 3. Hereby, customers within the EU may not be refused by web shops within EU member states because of their region.
