Sony reveals PlayStation 5 latest and shows version without disc tray
Sony has revealed the design of its upcoming console, the PlayStation 5, at the end of its Future of Gaming event. The Japanese company is coming with a version with and without an optical drive.
The Sony PlayStation 5 stands vertically on a base and has white, slightly curved side panels with a black base with blue lighting in between. However, the console can also be placed horizontally. With its combination of white and black and blue accents, the design matches the look of the DualSense controllers, which Sony already showed in April.
At the front are a USB and USB-C port, but the other connections were not visible in the reveal trailer. The optical disk input is located vertically on the front right, but there is also a variant that does not have a disk drive: the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition.
Sony also showed a charging station to charge two DualSense controllers, an HD camera for the console, a remote control and the Pulse 3D: a wireless headset. These are all available in white. Sony previously used the combination of white and black with blue accents for its PlayStation VR headset.
