Sony releases new trailer for Gran Turismo film due out in August
Gran Turismo has always had a reputation for being very realistic. In August, those graphics will become very real, as can be seen from the new trailer that Sony has released about the film surrounding the racing game. Not only graphics become real, but also the race itself.
Sony Pictures has released a new trailer from a film about Gran Turismo, which also has the name of the game. Last year it was announced that Sony is working on that film and that it will be released in theaters in August of this year. The film is based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, who after playing the game also started working for the Nissan team as a ‘real’ driver. As a professional car racer he won several competitions.
The film is directed by Neill Blomkamp, known for sci-fi films such as Elysium and District 9. The film stars some of the leading actors, including Archie Madekwe as the driver and Stranger Things’ David Harbor as the trainer. The film shows how driver Mardenborough works his way up from semi-serious gamer to professional driver via a serious team with which he trains in Gran Turismo simulators. The film will be released on August 11.
