Sony presents Xperia E5 smartphone with 5 “screen
Sony has presented the Xperia E5, a cheap device with a 5 “screen and 4G support. The device will be released this summer in the Benelux, Sony said. It is Sony’s first phone this year outside the Xperia X-series. line.
The 5″ LCD has a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The Xperia E5 runs on a quad-core MediaTek-soc, the MT6735 with four Cortex A53 cores at 1.3GHz and a Mali T720MP2 GPU. Sony adds 1.5GB of memory. The storage has a capacity of 16GB and can be expanded via the microSD slot.
Sony has built in an undisclosed 13-megapixel camera on the back with ‘Sony technology’. The front camera has a maximum resolution of five megapixels. The Xperia E5 will be released in July in the Benelux for 199 euros. The phone runs on Android 6.0 with Sony’s own interface on top.
The Xperia E5 is the first phone this year from Sony that falls outside the Xperia X line. The rumor that from now on every new device from the Japanese manufacturer would fall within this series has been debunked. The X, X Performance, XA and XA Ultra will be released in the X line this summer.
