Sony presents 200 euro earphones with noise canceling for sports

The Japanese electronics maker Sony has presented wireless earphones with noise canceling for sports. The earphones are water resistant with an IP55 rating and have a battery life of nine hours.

The supplied box offers another full charge, so that the battery life is 18 hours with noise canceling. Without noise reduction, the earphones and the box come together for up to 26 hours, Sony reports. The product page reports that it concerns ‘digital’ and ‘wireless’ noise canceling.

In addition to noise reduction, there is a mode to let sound through, so that users can hear approaching traffic while running, for example. This mode can be set per location via an app, but can also automatically adjust based on the location and sensor data.

More specifications are currently unknown. The earphones will be released in July and will cost 200 euros upon release, Sony says.
