Sony presents 1TB variant of PS4 update
Sony has presented a variant of the PlayStation 4 with 1TB of storage. The variant of the console in the Ultimate Player edition will go on sale in Europe from July 15, but the Japanese manufacturer has not yet announced prices.
Other than the size of the storage, Sony does not mention any changes compared to the regular PS4. Sony says the console will go on sale on July 15, but the manufacturer won’t say where it will be sold and how much it will cost. The console maker refers to retailers for this. There have been rumors about an Ultimate Player Edition of the PS4 before, but that was about the 500GB version combined with a PS Vita.
Update, 14:16: Sony has also presented a new 500GB version, which is more economical and lighter than the current PS4. In total, it is 2.5 kg and consumes eight percent less power.
This new 1TB variant is not. On the box, tweaker UltimusXI discovered the type number CUH-1115B, while the new version starts with CUH-12. This is therefore not the lighter and more economical PS4, contrary to what was stated earlier in the article.
