Sony PlayStation Studios baseball game also coming to Xbox this year
MLB The Show 21 will be released on April 20 for both PlayStation and Xbox consoles. The latter is striking, because the game is made by Sony’s own PlayStation Studios. The developer already announced in 2019 that MLB would come to more platforms.
It is the first time that a game from Sony’s PlayStation Studios will be released on Xbox consoles. The packaging of MLB The Show 21 for Xbox also features the PlayStation Studios logo. Earlier, Sony already released its own game Horizon Zero Dawn for the PC.
In late 2019, the developers of MLB The Show announced that the franchise would be coming to more platforms starting in 2021. Xbox was not specifically mentioned at the time. The series has been around since 1997 and since then the games have been released exclusively for PlayStation consoles.
The games in the MLB The Show series are made under a Major League Baseball license. That is the American baseball league that has been in existence since 1903. The new part will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and One X for 70 euros. There will also be a version for the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X and S, which costs 80 euros.
