Sony plans smartphone announcement on February 24
Sony will present one or more new smartphones in its Xperia line of Android devices on February 24. That has been announced by the manufacturer. The presentation will take place at the start of the Mobile World Congress telecom fair in Barcelona.
Sony has planned the presentation on Monday morning at half past eight, according to the invitation that GSMArena has put online. That Sony will show new smartphone there is no surprise; the Japanese manufacturer has been showing new models at the telecom fair in Barcelona for years. The presentation can also be followed via a live stream. The image on the invitation doesn’t give much away and resembles a wallpaper that Sony ships with its phones.
There was recently a rumor about a device that Sony would call Xperia 5 Plus. According to the renders, the Japanese manufacturer has set up a 3.5mm jack there for the first time in a few years on a more expensive model. According to the info, the screen has dimensions of approximately 154x68mm, with a diagonal of 6.6 “and a screen ratio of 21:9. The resolution is unknown. The Xperia 5, which was released last fall, has an OLED screen of 2520×1080 pixels.
There was also a rumor about a compact smartphone at the end of last year. Sony presented top model Xperia 1 and midrange phones Xperia 10 and 10 Plus at MWC last year. They came out a few months later.
