Sony is making Red Dead Redemption 2 and God of War available on PlayStation Now
Sony will add several new games to its PlayStation Now game streaming service in July. This lineup includes Red Dead Redemption 2 and the 2018 God of War game. Some games from the lineup are only available for a limited time.
The new games will be added to the range of PlayStation Now games on Tuesday, July 6, Sony reports the PlayStation blog. Red Dead Redemption 2 will remain available until November 1, 2021 and is only playable via a PS4 or PS5. Sony also adds Judgment. Created by the team behind the Yakuza franchise, that game follows a detective investigating a series of murders. That title will be available through PS Now until October 4.
The company also adds some other major games to the service, in the form of God of War and Nioh 2. Sony does not specify an end date for those titles. The company is also making indie game Moving Out, Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, and Nascar Heat 5 available on the service.
PlayStation Now is a service that allows subscribers to download or stream PlayStation games. PS Now can be used on PC and PlayStation 4 and 5. PC users can only stream games, but subscribers with a PS4 or PS5 can also download PS4 games from the PS Now range and play them locally. Sony increased the streaming resolution to 1920×1080 pixels earlier this year, where the streaming service previously worked at a 720p resolution.
